The latest Hedone bullshit is exactly the reason orgs like the HWA *should* exist - to let people know about toxic, fraudulent practices in the publishing industry Writers shouldn't be expected to assume every publisher is a potential embezzler. The onus to investigate should not be on them 🧵

I totally understand what you mean. It sounds like Hedone took advantage of BIPOC authors in this anthology for sure. I also want to tell you that Hedone did the same thing to a bunch of us a few years ago when she drove DarkLit to the ground & didn't pay royalties.
