I've been there a couple times in a couple ways. People do things only they can understand for reasons we can't guess. All we can do is try to carry on. This pain is not as big as you. It might not ever diminish, but you will grow, and it will become a smaller and smaller part of you and your story.

i made the mistake of being too pushy to rekindle the rapport i had with someone who had grown into their own life the same way i had grown into mine while we were apart, and i ended up scaring him off and shattering any hopes of that manifesting, sometimes what you consider important others may not
