The freedoms De Bruyne was granted I don’t feel were often recognised due to his the efficiency of his play style plus his personality.
Show PostCherki is the De Bruyne replacement in the current set up and is subsequently given the same freedom, Grealish was never that guy. Despite appearances I think both De Bruyne and Cherki are highly efficient but they give off a completely different vibe.
Show PostInteresting piece, I think there has been an obvious shift towards ball carriers / dribblers, with Doku exemplifying that. I think that’s in reaction to the changing landscape, more man to man etc. and the questions that poses.
