There is a whole generation of people who commonly go by names that have nothing to do with the name on their birth certificate. And I only know how common this is because when I come to do their funerals, the name on Jack's death certificate is David, or whatever.

i mean yes, also yes, but the real reason its tricky for minors is to avoid trafficking and kidnapping, which i would argue is worth the extra paperwork
