So 8% of Albertans voted to become a country, barely above the noise floor. This should be a final lesson to stop pandering to this non-constituency by humouring the premier’s demand for a national energy program, another economically unsupported federal-funded pipeline, etc
Show PostTo put Alberta’s 76% “Remain In Canada” Referendum Vote result into context: The separatist tactic involved telling people to vote for separation “to give more negotiation power” even if they don’t support separation, & will just lead to a 2nd vote, not separation. So separation is VERY unpopular.
Show PostWay lower. Abacus had it at less than 10%.
Show PostJust a note- separatists pitched option 2 to hold a binding referendum as a way to send a message to Ottawa. Many folks jumped on that idea. Which means, no, 24.5% of Albertans do not support separation. The actual number is lower.
Show PostI don’t really know why conservatives hate liberals so much. All we do is try to get them voting rights and fair wages and healthcare. But the propaganda machine has brilliantly succeeded at demonizing us mostly for things that are total nonsense.
