Every time I’m on a cross country flight and people complain about the food or seats or whatever, I think of this screen, and remember how lucky we are to make this journey in just a few hours, with only trivial inconveniences.

i am on a plane sitting next to a lady who looks 40ish and has informed me that this is her first time flying she is visibly excited. she asked the flight attendant how much a soda costs and was happy to learn that drinks are free on airplanes. she's taking lots of pictures. i love this for her

I had to laugh recently when I read in a London guidebook that when a Londoner says (as I sometimes do) to someone standing on the left of an escalator "excuse me, please. Thank you" the words are LADEN with frustration, sarcasm and repressed rage.

As an American who lives in the UK, this is why I make sure whenever I go anywhere I repeat "Oi, move out me way, I'm popping to the Greggs for a sausage roll" so no one thinks I'm just visiting.
