At my college a freshman recruit literally died from falling down the stairs after being coerced into drinking too much. Some of his frat “brothers” put off calling the ambulance and by the time someone did it was too late. I often think about him and his poor family

Another thing about fraternities is that the hazing rituals where slightly older young men would physically, mentally emotionally and sometimes even sexually abuse slightly younger young men have always disturbed and upset me greatly. And it’s really telling that I’ve seen men defend those too
