The title track and the closer straight after are pretty much the good songs on the record. I know they're an impressively forward-thinking band, with some deserved classic singles, but some of their lyrical preoccupations become real gaps in the armour, and the annoyingness™️ is often less charming.
Show PostI saw them opening an arena show for Robert Plant.
Show PostGods Own Medicine will always be a favorite, but my top 5 would is: 1. Masque (possibly for personal reasons / associations) 2. neverland (such an amazing and underrated album) 3. Gods Own Medicine 4. Children 5. Carved in Sand
Show PostI might be a *bit* of a fan of theirs.
Show PostChildren is such an odd album. John Paul Jones’ production / fingerprints are *all* over the whole thing. Tower of Strength might be the best song Wayne Hussey ever *touched*. And it’s like my 4th favorite Mission album.
