With some delay, my op-Ed on the dramatic Saxony-Anhalt election. It is high time we focus our political struggle on strengthening democracy, rather than merely weakening the far right. To do this, we must show realism, resilience and restraint.

I've been to many, many Pride events - including today -, in different countries, in small towns and large cities, to first-ever parades and anniversary celebrations. All were full of colour and joy, pride (obvs) and defiance. That some people bring violence to them is horrendous #csdberlin 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As associate editor, I come across all sorts of research. Does the world need a study on cognitive mechanisms of word formation in medieval Turkic languages? Maybe not, but I wouldn't want to live in a world where there was no space for such work.

Taking a break from filing my reimbursements. I am now 3 hours in and the system has become almost completely non-responsive. The reimbursement system is the most painful illustration of the complete disregard the university management has for our time.
