I promise y'all, this is not complicated and doesn't involve shenanigans! If you own 1% of Weinersmith Inc and it's worth 4 dollars, I have a 4 dollar liability. If Weinersmith Inc's valuation goes up by 3x I now have a 12 dollar liability. Am I worse off now?
