The AI tool gives quite a "self-aware" explanation of how it actually works and why, acknowledging the problems this creates. It is, of course, NOT self-aware...but boy, does it ever come across that way (...and therein lies the danger)... /7

Indeed. Getting my diagnosis was the worst game of whack-a-mole ever, because many practitioners still hold onto older conventions of my condition. It took one who knew what it looked like in women.
