I see a lot of patients who lose way too much blood through menses but I was today years old when I learned that it’s supercharged?! Apparently menstrual blood has 2-4x more stem cells than bone marrow and they proliferate faster! AMAZING.

It’s a lovely feeling seeing those you’ve trained succeed and get fellowships and consultant jobs. Also, I do quite like feeling like Don Corleone when I make phone calls to other hospitals to tell them “listen, my boy’s going to apply for your job, and you’re going to going it to him, capiche?”
