September 23rd, 2020: Hurricane Teddy made landfall in Nova Scotia as a powerful extratropical cyclone. The storm dropped up to 5.2" of rain, produced wind gusts as high as 82 mph, and cut power to ~20,000 customers in the province.

My grandparents gave me a copy of this book when I was young: www.goodreads.com/book/show/17... It's a fairly obscure text, but has great descriptions of the city and the hurricane. (Grandpa would have been about six during the storm but I don't recall him ever discussing it).
Show PostSeptember 4th, 1941: A significant tornado struck the Twin Cities, Minnesota, metropolitan area. The estimated F2 tracked for 30 miles, striking a school, several factories, a railyard, and numerous homes. Four people were killed and 41 were injured.
