At 16, Corion Evans jumped into the Pascagoula River after a car carrying three teenage girls plunged into the water. He rescued all three, then swam back out to save a police officer who was also struggling. In one night, he helped save four lives.

Seattle would not be Seattle without Native people. Today, we raised a new flag, designed by Louie Gong, in celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day. This flag flies to honor the Native peoples who have stewarded this region since time immemorial.
