It might not arguably be the worst thing that has ever been on that land, but yeah it's like if this is okay and this is happening, I don't want to hear any more about how housing hurts orcas and salmon or that taxes are driving rich people away.

this is no joke how a specific subset of local zoning laws are written. this is literally what minimum parking mandates require: spending money and space that could go towards housing people on housing cars. that is the unfortunate status quo in a lot of places in the US.
