Australia is paying $750m to a US prison company and $2.5bn in a secret deal to Nauru, yet the hundred or so asylum seekers in Nauru are starving. It’s called corruption, and someone in authority should look into it.

"During her marathon speech, Webb dismantled the government’s case for the stadium, declaring it would 'irrevocably ruin' Hobart’s heritage waterfront." Thank you, @megwebb-mlc.bsky.social. Glad there are some MLCs who take the responsibilty seriously. #politas pulsetasmania.com.au/news/stadium...
Show PostUtterly ludicrous. The govt has now promised to cap its stadium spend at $875m, which is half a billion more than the cap it promised at the election. Watch it blow out every few months from now on… And where are they going to reduce their other borrowings from? TT-Line??

Two decades ago the Tas. Govt put all its apples in a pulp mill. One decade ago it put them in Mona (a $408M loss maker for the owner from which the already propped up hospitality and tourism sectors benefited). This decade the apples are going in a stadium as demanded by vested interests. #politas
