There aren't many days when you can kayak off Start Point, renowned for one of Britain's most dangerous tidal races. But yesterday the stars aligned, so I bunked off work. Delighted to see Rupert Kirkwood (the Lone Kayaker) out there. He took this picture of me +1. Before you ask: yes, it's real. 🧵

The best road trip of my life took me here. Starting in NorCal we skiied Whistler, went north to Jasper NP and then south to Banff NP. Moraine was easily a top 5 visit. We were 17, ran out of time and money, had to do everything on the cheap from Banff, home. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
