These are all fundamentally data problems - either data analysis (compliance, out of band, security) or transformation/transition (deployment, day two). But until System Initiative, no system has ever been designed with this at the core.
Show Postthis workflow happens because the tools guide you here. How do we deal with compliance? How do we deal with out of band state? How do we repeat deployment patterns? What about day two ops? What about security policy?
Show PostOne problem with our approach to automation has been that it’s all or nothing. We can’t go gracefully from bespoke to managed to repeatable. But that’s always the path - both for new stuff and bringing existing things under management.
