I gather there was no complementation in the original pub? A little complementation goes a long way! Good they retracted. Way too many don't correct the record & it wastes a lot time & resources (neither of which any of us have to spare!)

But I think it's brave enough that Klaus Hantke, a very reliable scientist, took the full responsibility for this error and contacted the journal to retrieve the article. But I know whom you're talking about, not so many authors left 😅, and cdiAMP exists 😉

😆 At least in Bsub I hypothesize they are extracellular polymer - PGA & maybe some kind of EPS (at least dependent on one). Neither conduit-tubes, nor manifestations of cell death. Easy to check if one has the microscopy optimized: K/o pgsB
