This was standard practice at my previous employer. If I walked away from my unlocked computer long enough for a teammate to email the team that I was bringing donuts (or bagels) the next day, then I was on the hook to bring donuts (or bagels) as promised.

Yes. I provide donuts any time that I leave my computer unlocked and someone writes that email.
Show PostI got my start in tech support a looooong time ago. We all worked on Solaris Sparcs. When a newbie would get up without locking their computer one of us would enable “xhost +” on their machine. Then, in the middle of a difficult call, one of us would melt their screen.
