#JamesBarryDiary 19/10/1876 A moderate fall day: some sunshine; water is getting low again, but still there is enough for the grist mill. Cunningham and I was in the mill both until sometime after dinner; then I went into my little shop to finish off some books. Lots of Oats coming in.

Stillman Cemetery near Saltsprings - I had a photo, can't locate at this moment - an impressive stone, not huge but big - but contains no other family. His wife, parents, siblings, children, all buried elsewhere. Here, his wife Bell in Scotsburn, effectively stating her separate life.

#JamesBarryDiary 15/10/1876 Rained some last night and a little this evening. I had a terrible night of it last night. I took 3 of Ayer's pills and they dispelled the fever — they always do that with me — they never fail. I lay in bed sleeping musing and dreaming in trouble all the time.
