Another record for us last night, the first time we've had over 400 moths. 109 of them were Diamond-back Moths.... but among the others were half a dozen Jersey Tigers, including this one face on #Guernsey #teammoth
Show PostPelagic birding at its best! Cory’s - 350 and Great - 250 Shears on view start to finish. Six Sabine’s Gull, 2 close for 30 mins in slick, 2 following boat. Superb ad Long-tailed Skua for 10 mins. Six Grey Phal, 2 being confiding. 3 Wilson’s & 100+ Euro Stormy. Photos Joe Pender
Show PostGreat pics of a dark LTS, showing several ID features in both plumage and structure, including the notch in the underwing patch #ukbirding
Show PostDusky Scalloped Oak trapped on Corbiere cliffs a couple of nights ago with @andym105.bsky.social I've been wanting to see this Guernsey speciality for a very long time, but it only lives on the south coast cliffs in small numbers and so is hard to find.
Show PostA day with @scillypelagics.bsky.social never disappoints. Great, Cory's, Sooty and Manx Shearwater, Euro and Wilson's Storm-petrel, Sabine's Gull, Arctic and Great Skua, Arctic and Black Tern plus dozens of Common Dolphin playing around the boat. Every British birder should do this once. #UKbirds
