I don't talk about it much, but it really is psychically damaging to receive the incredible amount of harassment that comes with transitioning publically. I really don't like being the object of others' vast cruelty and it is exhausting keeping up the composure to not descend into cruelty myself.

This is everything to do with feelings. Pragmatism is shunned on this website. Moral righteousness in the face of certain defeat is celebrated. There is nothing more IN YOUR FEELS than a losing for a moral victory.
