I’ve long thought this was a fruitful research angle particularly for risky behaviors. (Ex. One likely underestimates their risk of STDs if using their own number sexual contacts but ignoring their partners have more contacts than they do.) Also interesting that subjects don’t unlearn 1st estimate.

I know that a large portion of my "non-response" to pollsters who contact me is my lack of information regarding who is a responsible polling company, as opposed to either a pure political hack or a complete fraud (not even a pollster). How is the average person supposed to know who to trust?
