Clamors for crack downs on "reckless cycling" partly reflect poor perception of risk, confirmation & outgroup homogeneity biases, novelty effect, misdirected frustration with infrastructure, etc, but frankly a lot of people just want cyclists put in their place out of sheer bootlicking pettiness
