my second take is that imo the osr sphere would be waaaaaay easier to understand and get into if you ignore literally all of the nonsense little phrases that osr players spout

The split between player/GM and GM'd/GMless hurts our understanding of player roles in ttrpgs, and our design. They are false binaries that we sort games into based on what "feels right," without actually being very useful terms for understanding dynamics in play beyond a base level.
