Aberfan was a thing you were told about, growing up in Wales in the Seventies, but with no real context. The older you get, the more you learn, and the more you learn, the angrier you get. UK water privatisation is staggering. Companies were effectively handed monopolies over an essential, inelastic good on two basic conditions - don't exploit customers, and reinvest in infrastructure. Instead we got shit in rivers and and million pound bonuses to execs.

I'm a paramedic. We need a new emergency service specifically for dealing with mental heath issues. While paramedics like me have basic mental health training, we are still not in the best position to help these people. We try our best but we have too little resources and staff.
