it really does feel like they just got away with unprecedented amount of theft of expertise, and are now profiting off of it while replacing the professional opportunities for the very crafts and humans it trained on I never thought I would see the concept of expertise get so devalued

The sloppers can't really copy anything that's like, complicated, right? Every game I see where this happens is like "fish" or "find a needle in a haystack" or "peel a potato". Perhaps this just makes it less viable to make simple, small games, and indie game dev becomes more of an endeavor again.
