Altho some of the most dangerous betting doesn't happen in shops. It's lads on their phones in the pubs on a Saturday. Three or four betting apps open at any one time, scrolling between them all, cashing out piddling returns on failing wagers, drowning their losses in jars of Stella.

Some of us keep the faith, it's interesting how perspectives shift though. As a small boy my grandson thought having a motorcycling hippy grandad cool, now he's in his thirties with a mortgage kids and middle class aspirations I'm an embarrassment. To be honest I delight in acting the part.
