I think you’re conflating creativity and aesthetics with art. Or maybe I’m defining “art” as fine art. Where would you draw the line between art and craft. Be aware I’m not claiming art is higher than craft. They’re generally different. With different goals and drivers.

I see where you’re going with that. It can be. It can also be craft. Are you equating any poster for an event as art? A portrait is often to appreciate as a representation of the subject and the skills of the artist. An event poster must communicate info about the event. Are we going Art Theory?

Disagree. And no it isn’t. It’s a craft. Art is self expression. Design is an intentional solution to a problem within a set of constraints.
