Re:Geller, fact that the victim wasn't the one who came forward with this and that it was done without her consent really makes me ponder a bit, tbh. There's a question here about privacy around this sorta thing

Now, I've seen people talk about rape and those *do* seem to be ‘only’ allegations. We have no statement from the victim (nor are we entitled to one to be clear) and looking at definitions in UNC policy, ‘sexual assault’ could be anything from rape to non-consensual groping.

Apropos of the Jacob Geller allegations: Now's a good time to remember that being a rapist DOESN'T suffuse everything someone does. There is no ephemeral Aura of Rape that follows them, that you could have sniffed out. And that's why people deny it. Because a rapist can be anyone.
