A Knot (presumed juv) dropped in at #uptonwarren Flashes this morning. A rare bird here these days - only the 3rd I've seen in 22 years of visiting the reserve. 2 Green Sands, 6 Curlew & 3 Stonechat were other highlights, and an Avocet was reported for a 2nd day at the Moors Pool. #WorcsBirds

Some phonescope video of the Ryall Court Pits Stone-curlew, where I first spotted it just off the shoreline. Over the day, it moved no more than a few metres from this area #WorcsBirds

Thanks. The local patchers have been looking for one for years with Multiple records nearby in Somerset, South Wales and Gloustershire but still a complete shock when one lands in front of you. The reward of Patch Birding. Good luck for you.

Saddened by the news our friend Bill Oddie has passed away. We spent many happy days birding with Bill on his beloved Fair Isle and here in Shetland and his books in the 1980s inspired us and a generation of young birders. Since then he has inspired millions to appreciate nature. A true legend.
