I’m guilty of this today too. But someone accusing me of “distracting from the conversation about Palestine” made me think about it. None of this conversation actually involves discussing Palestine and what is happening there? Realistically I just distracted from people lionizing Macklemore.

A thing that is weird and frustrating about these “a famous person said something about Palestine and then got in trouble” moments is that none of them ever lead to actually talking about Palestine - they just lead to us talking about the famous person and who’s mad at them.
