I always draw my ocs smiling, gentle, serene, the greatest criticism I get is that my art suffers for it. But look at any piece of illustrated media ever and everyone and their moms Brown, Black etc characters are taciturn, frowning, angry, grumpy, and its stark when they have a white counterpart
