It feels a little silly sometimes, but I can confirm that reading your writing out loud is a surefire way to figure out where it doesn’t flow! Though if you are in a zoom writing session, turning off your video will avoid your colleagues thinking you just didn’t unmute, oops!

I just think there’s something existential looming if we keep allowing these companies to extract our collective genius, alienate us from it, and then sell it back—either to us, to the people who do currently pay us (because that’s not the publishers), or entities who want expertise without labor.
