a huge complicating factor is that it's difficult to talk about these things when it comes to highly composite art forms like video games or cinema one person might see a subcategory of a craft as a means to an end, while to someone else it is the craft that gives them a lot of meaning and purpose

I'm also not sure what people mean when they say "taste" or "curation" or "having good ideas" not to be mean but it often sounds like it's not much more than a fancy way of saying "i want a thing" or, ig a less mean spirited way of putting it is "ability to articulate what makes a thing good"

to me, creativity is the ability to create something beautiful/clever/good under constraints which *might* involve boundary pushing, but more often than not, it could really just be reinventing a wheel within an interesting set of constraints, pushing exactly 0 boundaries in the higher order medium

I think for future AI conversations, there's some words people use that I need to explore deeper I've noticed people use "creativity" to mean something along the lines of "pushing the medium's boundary in a novel direction"
