Guys, “The Mourning Robot” won 2nd place in the Rhysling Awards! Huge thanks to all the readers and @uncannymagazine.bsky.social for giving this one a home. This poem (+ spec poetry in general) has taken me to so many places this year (nebulas! hugos! my first pub in China!), and I am so grateful.

So this is the best news. I really admire both Jennifer and Stephanie, so I am thrilled to get to work with them. This collection is full of 90s horror pop culture and explores being a teen in small town Texas where horror was a lifeline 🖤
