you know what's hard is when you are told that there are *multiple* independent booksellers ACTIVELY TRYING TO ORDER AND SELL YOUR BOOK that your publisher (*cough* harpercollins *cough*) is currently listing it as "out of print"

also, within traditional publishing, there is apparently a difference between a book being "out of print indefinitely" and "out of print" for contractual reasons that allow authors to get their rights back which is obvs a loophole for them to retain the rights while not incurring production cost
