I’m going to start interjecting in car conversations about how cars can’t replace all trips. “Cars can’t do everything, mate, like some of my best friends have disabilities that make riding a car difficult or impossible. And what if I need to move someone emotionally? How can I do that with a car?”

Bizarre how common this argument is. "You can replace SOME car trips with bike trips, lowering cost and GHGs." "But you can't replace all trips. Bikes aren't the solution to everything." Can't help but think this is down to ubiquitous car ads telling people cars are the solution to everything.

Driver comes within cm of sideswiping me. Instead of waiting literally 2 seconds for a safe moment to pass wide. We constantly hear in the local news and at meetings how "we don't need bike lanes, bikes can just ride in the road." Then IRL drivers act like completely psychopaths around us.
