The top 1% made $4.5 TRILLION last year. They contributed just $103B to Social Security and Medicare. An effective payroll tax rate of 2.3%. Working class families contributed 9%. Because the payroll tax is arbitrarily capped at $184,500. Scrap the damn cap.
