Update 1/3: I’ve just submitted objections to 6 separate applications for more of these Digital Advertising Screens (DASs) in City Ward, Sheffield. Businesses applying for planning permission are now submitting applications for "communications kiosks”, but these kiosks incorporate big DASs...

@hackneycouncil.bsky.social in the UK has pledged to end meat/dairy ads on all council-owned land: the first UK borough to do so. 👏 The move follows @adfreecities.bsky.social's national campaign, which calls on local authorities to remove ads promoting factory-farmed meat, dairy, & fast food.
