What a lovely, insightful review of The Deserter. authorsglow.com/the-deserter... "A muscular, well-researched historical adventure that revives the classic Foreign Legion tale with modern narrative control. Gritty, relentless, and refreshingly unsentimental." 5 Stars

On Charles Ives’ birthday I’m listening to his Second Orchestral Set, written in 1915-19. A wonderful LP by Leopold Stokowski, from 1970. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGl9...
