@musicologess.bsky.social(in my adult life, maybe my favorite gaming memory is @musicologess.bsky.social asking me to watch a video with her only to reveal that the final track in Startropics had an extra voice we had never heard. It was as if she had time-traveled and given my eight year-old self a gift. I was dumbstruck.)
Show PostAnecdotally, @hoagietime.bsky.social and I (who love the N64 era - we both have Analogue 3D consoles, the whole nine yards) made @musicologess.bsky.social (who missed the entire generation) play N64 Ocarina of Time on stream. Dana could not identify which textures were interactable. It's ROUGH.
Show PostThrilled to have my first scholarly article published in the Journal of Sound and Music in Games! A delight to get to collaborate with my friend @musicologess.bsky.social to adapt my GDC talk about the musical development of "Tchia" to written form! online.ucpress.edu/jsmg/article...
Show Post@sarahpcphd.bsky.social - ludomusicologist, organ enjoyer, and from what I can tell, general life enthusiasts. @musicologess.bsky.social ludomusicologist, Startropics evangelist. She has a Twitch stream with the former called Bardic Knowledge - they do ludomusicology streams on Thursdays!
Show PostHad the privilege this week to present at the Save the Games symposium at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY! I met so many wonderful people, reconnected with many others, and saw some brilliant presentations. (Photos courtesy of @playhistory.bsky.social and @ftb1979.bsky.social )
