I've adopted the shorthand from the aftermath of the Bernie campaign that anyone who talks about the bourgeoise and capitalists knows who the enemy is and anyone who talks about the duopoly is a crank. With few exceptions it generally works out as a useful rubric.
Show PostAs a leftist who was horrified to see the Bernie coalition disintegrate, I have to attribute it in large part to Bernie not running a socialist or leftist campaign as much as he was running a populist one for a mid 20th century social contract. Populism energizes but there's no substance to it.
