Heaven forbid we even mention that the way many portray that part is very allo, so it’s sometimes even ignoring sex-neutral or positive aces. The conflation of attraction and libido for everyone sickens me. They want people to be demisexual? That’s fine. Just say that and don’t say it’s now canon.

100% agree. I just wish that saying so wouldn't incite a fandom war every other day. Everybody's got different tastes in characters. But with Alastor specifically, criticism or even a non-ship aroace understanding of him is read as an attack for lots of people. And that truly baffles me.

I just don't see any evidence at all in the source material or in interviews that hints at Alastor being someone who has ever wanted that and is perfectly happy being unattached. Might that change in the future? I dunno, but I haven't seen anything to support it yet, and plenty to not support it.🤷‍♀️
