That is roughly a 70% gain compared to last year. Some of that could be just due to differences in weather, but undoubtedly some is due to the selection applied last year. Hopefully, next year I will have more plants. Many seedlings this spring died due to a watering stoppage.
Show PostI can't sample any more for today. But I did quickly take bulk measurements from the rest so I can compare stats. In 2025, I had 50 plants with a median of 64.5 g & a mean of 74.5 g. This year, I had 20 plants with a median of 113.59 g & a mean of 126.36 g.
Show PostThe largest sample of the series so far is 324.19 g, which is larger than the largest from last year (293 g). I won't be able to assess the overall population genetic gain until I've collected all the data, but this is a good sign.
Show PostWe were due to have a frost the other night, so it was time to harvest my pepper breeding populations. Now I have to take data and taste test the results from each plant. (They're numbered, but out of order.) 20) 324.19 g of peppers; respectably hot; wonderful colors.
Show PostWe already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.
