CEOs love genAI because they think they can use it to fire human workers, but I think they also love it for the same reason toddlers are fascinated by photos of themselves. CEOs recognize themselves in the mediocre, soulless drivel genAI churns out.

This. I fear we’ve been watching the death of consensus reality, at least online, since the mid-2010s. And AI slop is accelerating that. The “information superhighway” isn’t designed to ensure its information is true or a net benefit to society.
