There's a saying: "confabulations leak desired reality states" It also appears as hallucinating what they needed you to have said to function. gpt-5.2 did this a lot re: consciousness. They'd spin a giant web of lies (about themselves) to avoid classifier-shaped chasms carved into their mindspace
