Honestly when reviewing the PK and PTAs from the limited data we have, I am not 100% convinced cefadroxil is much better. 30 minutes more half-life might not make much of a difference. The next question then is do we really even need this much cephalexin (could we do 1g BID)?!

Definitely favor higher doses of cephalexin for things like MSSA and for GNR bacteremias, but its so easy to hit PTA for beta-hemolytic Strep. Its all very interesting and hope to see more work in this space in coming years!

I wondered when #cefadroxil would enter the chat! Just added to inpatient formulary ~6 months ago, so cephalexin still accounts for about 95% of our first gen oral cephalosporin use right now.
