unsurprising really but still - its not hard to handle this well? its as simple as acknowledging that a character is clearly reflecting something real for trans women and that you think thats neat. but yknow, clearly she did *not* think thats neat. womp womp!

it just sucks because TOH made huge leaps in having a childrens show character be openly bisexual, like *say the word* bisexual, something that even adult-oriented media rarely does. clearly she understands the value in representing and in making people feel seen.

theres asserting a character is cis, and there is acting like youve been personally insulted for trans women seeing themselves in her. girlhood (and the abuse that carries) can be very uniting but cis women are so fucking insanely possessive of it.

like i do understand feeling a little protective over a character if youve put a lot of yourself into it, and i think a cis woman making a character a cis woman to reflect her experiences. yknow. being a cis woman. is like. Fine! but like

"frankie is based on my experiences and life as a cis woman, so she wasnt intended to be transfem - but im happy to hear her experiences resonate with trans women, and i think its an awesome headcanon! i just dont want anyone getting their hopes up of a trans reveal" <- how hard is this
